Updates for WordPress 5.8 Include WEBP Image Support
WordPress 5.8 is due to hit your websites today, 20th July 2021, and we’ve been testing and refining MaxGalleria and Media Library Folders/Pro to make sure it’s a smooth update.
Our most exciting new feature by far, is the WEBP Image Support!
WEBP Image Support
There isn’t a developer who hasn’t heard of WEBP images (hopefully) and since we’re all about images and media files, it was a no brainer to include this feature. We’ve updated our core plugins, MaxGalleria, Media Library Folders and Media Library Folders Pro, as well as all the other add-ons, including MaxGalleria Watermark to work with WEBP images for browsers supporting WEBP.
Note: With MaxGalleria Watermark 1.0.6, watermarks can be added to WEBP images but WEBP images cannot be used as a watermark image.
The rest of the MaxGalleria family of plugins have been been tested with WordPress 5.8 and are performing as expected.
As always, we are continually improving our plugins and keeping up with the improvements in WordPress, so you can update confidently, directly through your WordPress Dashboard under plugins. If an update is not available you’ll need to log in to your MaxGalleria account, renew any licenses where required and then recheck for the update in WordPress.
